Let's Play Dress Up - Part 2
Now for my costume inspiration!
Keep your men at bay! It's the oh-so-fabulous Joan Holloway from Mad Men! As a buxom redhead myself, she's the perfect character to channel this Halloween!
Here are some options for my costumery...
The signature gold pen necklace and a lapel pin are a MUST!
Of course some Lucky Strikes would make this costume a bit more accurate...
Joan is pure perfection and instead of being a sexy [insert profession here] or throwing on some lingerie and calling it a costume like so many desperate, unoriginal ladies out there...I prefer to have a bit more imagination and show, just like Joan, that being clever and stylish can be super sexy!
{and yes I am aware that my previous costume post did include a piece of lingerie, but COME ON! It was pretty cute, and hopefully not too, too, overt!}
Let's Play Dress Up - Part 1
It's almost Halloween time, kiddos and that has me thinking of costume ideas! Today my cousin asked me to help her come up with some great Katy Perry costume ideas, which is a perfect idea since pretty much everything Katy Perry wears is an outlandish costume in some way.
I came up with two ideas...
#1 Teenage Dream:
This nude American Apparel dress strategically covered in frothy pink cotton complete with a lavender wig and DIY heart headband.
#2 Candy Glam:
Happy trick-or-treating! Next I'll show you what MY costume shall be...or possibly more appropriately WOULD be since I'm moving that weekend and will most likely be consumed with that task and ignoring Halloween...sigh.

#2 Candy Glam:
Absolutely must have a blue wig, pink petticoat skirt (again, american apparel) and a cheap bustier bra covered in candy-like rhinestones and sheer ruffle trim! This look should definitely be finished off with a ring pop.

My Fashion-Filled, Big City Life
Lovely models I helped to style at the FGI Fashion and Lifestyle Awards Kick-Off Party held at the Prashe showroom in the Dallas design district on Wednesday night.
In other news I was photographed this morning with my gorgeous co-workers at Rosa Clara for a piece Brides of North Texas magazine is doing on the store for their February issue.
AAAAAAND, I'm picking up and moving south to the big city at the end of the month. It's about time! Look forward to goodbye photos of my little Denton bungalow and HELLO! photos of my new Dallas bachelorette pad!
