Fantasy Bachelorette Pad - Part 6: The Holiday

It's Christmas time and I most definitely have visions of sugar plum fairies dancing in my head!  Therefore, today's installment of my Fantasy Bachelorette Pad will be all about happy holiday scenes in my imaginary dream home! I tend toward a vintage/modern/girly side of things, surprise surprise....but in my parent's home where Christmas really lives I will always prefer a traditional red, green, and gold Christmas.  Family heirloom glass ornaments from the 50s and 60s and tattered home-made creations with 20 year old dry macaroni and glitter will always trump a chic color-coordinted tree for my Christmas morning.  But we're here to drool over Bachelorette Pad Christmas, and there ain't nothin' tattered about that!

{We have this exact vintage aluminum tree}

{below are some of my own decorations}

Merry Christmas everyone and happy decorating!

The List

I am a firm believer in making a Christmas list.  Your loved ones can take it or leave it, but it's fun to make and fun to look back on fondly years later and see what items you coveted at 18.  Personally I've made a few Christmas list power-points that make things even more interesting!  My lists are usually mostly books...and this year that hasn't changed!

Here's a few items from my 2011 list:

Laguiole Cheese Knife Set, Wall Flower Art from Jayson Home, Ko Sticks from Madewell, Marc by Marc Jacobs'Amy' watch in Rose Gold, Grey Striped TOMS

Christmas Tune-age

This is a photo from a recent freelance job I did doing interior holiday decor in some of Dallas' most impressive homes...I met some awesome people and certainly had a good time!

BUT, that's not what this post is about.  This post is about one of my absolute favorite parts of my absolute favorite time of year.  I'm talking about Christmastime, and I am most certainly talking about Christmas music!  Many hard years of research went into what I'm about to share with you.  I think you're ready.

IT'S RYAN'S ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST!!!!

Here are some of the things I learned while compiling this list; NO ONE should EVER sing Santa Baby except Eartha Kitt, Jessica Simpson shouldn't be allowed to record a holiday album ever again, it is ok to add one non-Christmas song to the perfect playlist if it's featured in a favorite holiday film and Christmas is all you think about when you hear it, repeating the same songs but by different artists is acceptable only if you absolutely couldn't decide which one was better, as in the famous cases of Burl Ives vs. Gene Autry, Judy Garland vs. Mel Torme, and Bing Crosby vs. The Drifters.  It becomes a case of the more the merrier!!!!! And your Christmas playlist CAN NOT be too long since, like me, you will be listening to it on repeat for an entire month and if it's too short it will get old fast....and no one wants to be tired of Christmas music before Christmas even arrives.

So, without further ado,  I present:
